Jefferson Street Studios is located in Paducah, KY, ten blocks west of the National Quilt Museum at 1149 Jefferson St.

Show Reception:
FEBRUARY 26,  5-8 pm

Aho’s paintings are created with layering techniques characteristic of digital imaging and traditional printmaking, which rely on distinct layers of color and image to achieve their final results. Aho uses similar processes to create his densely layered abstract paintings. Coming full circle, his etchings typically originate from digitized remakes of his paintings. The photographs on display represent images created since his arrival in Paducah in September.

Line as Movement Project 1 : Student Work

The goal of the project was to create simple single lines that move across the paper to create a very rich drawing , full of intricate rivulets of various sizes and curvilinear swings to move the viewers eye through the work of art. Students were encouraged to have intent in their mark making to create light and dark areas in the overall drawing.  All drawings were done in Shannon Duffy's Into to Art classes.
